Private Ponds & Streams

Hidden Valley Guest Ranch has premium stocked ponds for the avid fly fisherman to enjoy. Unlike some stocked ponds that have small fish, the ranch has many fish in the 4-6 pound range and some closing in on 10 pounds. All of the fish are rainbow hybrids called Kamaloops. These fish grow extremely fast and fight tremendously hard when caught.The ranch currently has four private ponds to choose from and several more are in the planning stages.

If you want to test your skills at stream flyfishing, there are several places on the ranch ready to challenge you. The more experienced and avid flyfisherman will enjoy the challenge of these streams!

Blue Ribbon Rivers

Hidden Valley Guest Ranch is located next to the beautiful Beaverhead River. During your stay with us you can fish two private miles of this blue ribbon river with a Montana fishing license. If you'd like to experience floating the river, a guided trip can be arranged through a local outfitter for an additional cost.

In addition to the Beaverhead River, guests can also try thier luck in the famous Big Hole River and Madison River just a short drive from the ranch. Guided trips can also be arranged on these rivers for an additional cost.

Clark Canyon Reservior

Clark Canyon Reservoir is located just 15 minutes from the ranch. The reservoir offers fantastic fishing from a boat or from the shore. The fish are rather large and the meat is pink like salmon. During the summer, guided trips can be scheduled with local outfitters.

The winter months are great for the ice-fishing enthusiast. Each winter, the reservoir holds a popular fishing derby with some very generous prizes. It could make the trip worthwhile if you were to win!
